I want to fill you in on how we’re progressing as we move into heads down mode against the overarching commitments we made to you for this year: more listening, better consumer vetting, and making it easier to maximize the value you get from RealSelf.
Since January, we’ve pivoted decisively into execution mode. I and the rest of the RealSelf team, with the advice and feedback of our Business Advisory Board, have distilled the three commitments into more precise product ideas and themes. Here are three principles we’ll be prioritizing in 2019 as we introduce both new and refreshed RealSelf products.
- Shared accountability in terms of how we align our business success with outcomes for your practice. For example, practices that use our new ConnectLocal offering will pay only when they get a live introduction to a pre-screened aesthetics consumer.
- More ways to differentiate yourself and your practice among the field of aesthetics providers on RealSelf. These custom and personalized solutions will help you stand out in terms of your experience, credentials, expertise, personality, team, and other key dimensions of your practice that can make a strong and positive impression on potential patients.
- RealSelf will put our stamp behind a curated set of practices that meet standards we’ve set for both engagement on RealSelf and commitment to consumer education. These standards are proven to provide better experiences for both aesthetics consumers and for practices who want to attract more patients.
RealSelf will also be ramping up our investment in consumers. I’ve brought on a team led by our new Chief Brand and Communications Officer, Jani Strand, who are focused on designing the experience that will encourage consumers to choose these curated providers. I look forward to sharing more about that team and their work with you next month.
The Business Advisory Board met for the first time here in Seattle in late January, and the sessions exceeded all of my expectations. We presented new solution and product concepts that incorporate the principles above, and we received invaluable feedback from your peers on the board about how we can tailor those concepts to 1) promote greater success for your practice on RealSelf, and 2) work in harmony with the way your practice runs. I look forward to sharing more about these solutions and products in the coming months as we put on the finishing touches and prepare to roll them out to you.
